Charcoal & Bichrome Wash Sketches Stokes Croft, 2012-3

Besides the brown paper wash drawings, I did wash drawings on off-white paper, both at imperial size, 22” by 30”, and 30” by 40”. The smaller drawings usually utilised square willow charcoal for the drawing but for the larger pictures I sometimes drew with a 5.6mm dia lead clutch pencil with a black waxy lead. The colour used for flesh was light red (aka English Red, a synthetic iron oxide) and the background usually Phalo, Prussian or Fench Ultramarine Blue. These drawings were 10 minute to 20 minute poses.
